This beautiful little girl just turned ONE! I was so happy when her momma called me a few months ago to set up her session. I absolutely love photographing little ones. This age is fun because they are just learning new experiences and their eyes light up with everything they see.

I was crazy in love with how her momma planned their session. She’s got a sweet style and did fabulous pulling all of the little details together. These lemons… so stinkin sweet. Luckily for us – Juliet hasn’t quite figured out the art of throwing yet… yet. One of my favorite things about this location was the ducks. We had a beautiful afternoon, a little humid, but still just beautiful. A perfect place for momma to love on this little girl.

Juliet is now one. She is changing daily and you can now see her little personality start to form and come into her own. Momma was smart and knew it would take a village… so she brought along some help. Everyone pitched in to keep Juliet smiling, laughing and clapping. I always wonder what people think as they walk by one of our 1 year sessions. I’m sure our group of 5 women and a baby was a sight to see… I think it was WELL worth it though.

This little girl stole a little piece of my heart this day. She’s just as beautiful as her mommy and both of their smiles light up the room.

Brittany, thank you for trusting me to be your photographer. I had an incredible afternoon with you and Juliet and absolutely loved documenting your love for her.
Much Love
Brooke

Family Photography Sessions are always refreshing to me. I typically don’t shoot a lot of them during the year, a lot of families wait until the Fall. However, over the last year I’ve been pulled to document families in a very different way. A normal family session is a lot sit there and smile, Mom is panicking because the kids aren’t being perfect. Someone got a grass stain running from the car to me. Dad isn’t too happy to be there… and the kids, well, the kids just want whatever bribe was offered to them on the car ride to where we are meeting. Let me give you a different perspective on family pictures. Allow me to document your family, like you’ve never had done before.

If you have followed along with me for very long, you know that I strive to give you more than just “sit and smile” pictures. I want to capture the laughter (and yes even the tears). I want to document the missing teeth. I want to show you how beautiful your family is in it’s imperfect state. Let’s be real.. those family photos where everyone is standing just perfect and smiling perfect… that is NOT who your family is. If it is… I admire you and would love to know how you do it. For the rest of us… our lives are chaotic, frantic, stressful… but at the end of the day – it’s the little snuggles, the love you feel as your little ones crawl into your lap… these are the things that are important and have meaning. These are the things I want to remember years down the road.

So, let me introduce you to Life Inspired Sessions. We will talk in depth before your session about what makes your family awesome. We will dig into what your kids like at this exact moment in time. We will pick the perfect location, and plan fun activities and things to do together. We will customize this session JUST FOR YOUR FAMILY.

Let me tell your story with your very own Life Inspired Session.

Every once in a while, I like to shoot for me. I have something in my mind’s eye that I want to create. I think often times we (creatives) get bogged down by “work” that we forget to take time to make things that we want to make. Flash back a few weeks ago and a spot I had been, not so patiently, waiting for finally bloomed. It was beautiful. It was magical. I quickly scheduled a couple of clients, knowing that not everyone would be able to make it. I also grabbed my beautiful daughter and asked her to do a quick shoot with me.
I wanted to not only test the light but wanted make sure what I saw in my mind, I’d be able to create. We did and the images were gorgeous. Fast forward one week. One stinking week. Two storms, 7 days… ALL of the flowers had been destroyed in the wind. I threw a minor temper tantrum before this beautiful girl and her mother arrived. Just a minor one. I regrouped and came up with a new plan. This beautiful girl and her mom came to Fort Worth, TX EARLY last Saturday morning.
Savannah is a beautiful girl. I’ve photographed her before for a portfolio that her mother needed. I knew she could do the jumps and poses that I envisioned so I was super excited to that she was able to meet me early in the morning. What I didn’t know – was that the day before we met – it was her 13th birthday. So, this is a little late… however, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET GIRL!!
It was freezing cold and she was amazing. I don’t know how her toes didn’t go numb… mine were 🙂
The light at this time of day just can’t be any prettier. Can you believe she is ONLY 13?? This just blows my mind. I love the relationship that she and her mom have. They are friends, her mom helps coach her thru her dancing and her moments, I’m sure they don’t always get along… but I will just pretend they do. Side note: I kept cracking myself up because I don’t know the official language for dance. I don’t know the names of the jumps or the poses. I’m sure they giggled all they way home listening to me be a goober trying to explain what I wanted her to do. Regardless… we always have fun when we shoot together!

Before we left, we stepped around to the other side of this art piece… the sunlight coming in behind her kept tugging at my soul and my heart. These are images I think every dancer should have. This isn’t a technically awesome picture in the world of photography… but it’s beautiful. And sometimes, you just need something to be beautiful… and not technical.

Thank you so much girls for playing with me on a chilly morning. Savannah – I hope your birthday weekend was absolutely incredible!
Much Love to you both!
xoxo

This sweet family booked their session several weeks ago… when it was still a super hot Texas summer, but we prayed for cooler weather. I am so happy to have met this little family and be a part of telling their story.

Their little ones… holy moly. You can’t imagine the personalities from these two… unless you know them. I fell crazy in love with them and could have played in the park all day with them.

As a photographer, there are moments that we try to catch. We pride ourselves on capturing sweet moments filled with love…. and then there are some that we orchestrate. Because we know mom will love them. This one… normally is one that I would orchestrate. However, as I was photographing sweet love moments between the grownups…. I hear giggling beside me. They were standing beside me giggling about the kissing and covering their faces. Seriously…. how does that happen without me prompting them??? So I quickly told these two to run over and stand together and do the exact same thing again… perfect!!

Thank you so much Kirkpatrick Family for choosing me to be your photographer. You and your family are absolutely precious.
All my love

Sweet Elsa… her eyes are BIG BROWN BEAUTIFUL eyes. Just stunning really.
Her dad was being superdad. He rushed her out to our mini session and then was taking her to a class party. Mom… she was having a blast out of town.
Sassy… OH mom and dad… I have a feeling your hands will be full as she gets older. Way too pretty and full of sass!

What else would we do when Elsa shows up… we have a LOUD sing along of Elsa’s favorite song in the park. Of course!

Much Love
Brooke
