The BE Project – In a world where you can be anything…. What will you be?

Meet Rene.  Our lives are in different seasons.  We are not guaranteed happiness and sunshine, but it is definitely something that we can fight for.  Rene came in with a broken spirit.  She allowed herself to be vulnerable with me and my hope is that she finds the strength to believe in herself and her worth.

What word did you choose and why?

“My life looks nothing like it did a few months ago.  As much as we hate change, it is inevitable.  You have to accept it whether you want to or not.  We have to choose if we are going to stay angry and bitter or if we are going to grow fly and soar with it.  I want to be the latter.  I want to create the life I have dreamed of having for a long time.”

Brooke’s Note From this session

“Rene came in trying to smile thru it all and as soon as she stood in front of me she broke down.  I captured this image as she was trying to pull her emotions together… and I truly think it is beautiful.  Often times we try to hide our tears, try to appear to be strong, and we are ashamed if we cannot be.  The vulnerability in this image stole my heart this day.  I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this time next year… we will be having a drastically different conversation.  I know that she will find her worth as she processes all that has happened.  She is capable of greatness and now she just needs to hold on to that.”

The BE Project with Beautiful Evolutions Photography

The BE Project was created in 2016.  Two crazy girls had an idea and it came to life on a napkin at lunch one day. They partnered with a local jeweler, Woolards Custom Jewelry and a beautiful necklace was created.  What began as a marketing campaign turned in to an annual photo project that has allowed people to share a word that is important to them and why that word guides them.  Each year, in January, the project opens back up for registrations.  One week is dedicated to photographing the incredible people that want to join us.  All images are black and white to keep from any distractions.  Just the human and their word.
