What word did you choose and why?
Discipline
I chose the word Discipline. By utilizing discipline on a daily basis, I know that I can make small incremental gains toward my larger goals every single day.
This year I am focusing on the word Discipline. It’s a concept I really started working to understand more deeply about a year ago. Small disciplined moments each day can give you incremental gains toward big goals. Discipline has allowed me to take control of my life both mentally and physically. It has allowed me to become more efficient in my life and change my entire mindset. Discipline has made me a better husband and a better father, and I just want to continue that.
If you could go back and talk to a younger version of yourself, what would you say?
If I could talk to younger Justin, I’d tell him it’s amazing what you’re going to accomplish. I’d also tell him that you’re going to make mistakes – but that ultimately life is all about how you rebound from those mistakes. Being able to step back, look at the bigger picture and just shift your perspective when you hit those bumps along your journey, whatever they may be, is life changing. You can take the leadership of your own life. And you should.
