In a world where you can be anything, what will you choose?

2024 was rough, it got very dark. There were days where I didn’t wanna be here so I have to finally feel grateful. I have been given a second chance to bloom in my career. I have an amazing support system with my daughter. I have a best friend who goes out of her way to make sure that I am mentally sane, no matter what it is. There’s amazing women around me now uplifting me. I’m just really grateful for where I’m at right now.

Who or what inspires you right now and how does that show up in your life

My daughter. And that might be a cliche answer, but it has to be her.

What is something that you wish others knew about you that they might not see on the surface?

I’m not a bitch. My facial expressions run a lot of people off. I’m really the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.

What’s one piece of advice that you’ve received that has stuck with you, and why?

Nobody cares. Nobody truly cares. So you have to. I had a sixth grade teacher tell me that. She was like, I’m just going to tell you right now, so that way you don’t go out into this world with this false hope. Nobody cares about you. Your parents love you because they gave you life, but nobody cares. When they ask you how you’re doing, they don’t really care. They just want to hear okay. Nobody truly cares. So you have to care for yourself. You have to make a difference within yourself.

If you could go back and talk to yourself two years ago, what would you say?

It’s okay. Not everybody leaves. Not everybody is ugly.

The BE Project with Beautiful Evolutions Photography

The BE Project was created in 2016.  Two crazy girls had an idea and it came to life on a napkin at lunch one day. They partnered with a local jeweler, Woolards Custom Jewelry and a beautiful necklace was created.  What began as a marketing campaign turned in to an annual photo project that has allowed people to share a word that is important to them and why that word guides them.  Each year, in January, the project opens back up for registrations.  One week is dedicated to photographing the incredible people that want to join us.  All images are black and white to keep from any distractions.  Just the human and their word.

Head over to THE BE Project page read some of the incredible stories that have been shared with us.
