The BE Project | Hailey and “Evergreen”

The BE Project | Hailey and “Evergreen”

Every year, The BE Project invites people into my studio to pause, reflect, and choose a word that will guide the next chapter of their lives. It is not about perfection or reinvention overnight. It is about honesty. Courage. Becoming.

When Hailey stepped in front of my camera, her word carried both poetry and purpose.

“Evergreen.”

A word that speaks to staying relevant, fresh, and true to yourself over time, and one that also nods to her new adventure in marketing. For Hailey, it is about remaining rooted while continuing to grow.

The BE Project exists because I believe that we are all evolving and every person deserves to see themselves as art while they are becoming the person they are meant to be.

Why She Chose “Evergreen”

Hailey explained that evergreen represents being grounded in who she is while still evolving into who she is becoming.

It is not about losing herself as life changes.

It is about staying anchored.

She shared that her word from last year was “Steadfast,” and that it served her well through a season of major career shifts and transitions. Evergreen feels like the natural next chapter, growth with roots, change with stability.

“To be rooted in who I am while still evolving.”

What She Is Working Toward This Year

This year, Hailey is focused on learning.

In her career, she wants to continue developing her skills, knowing there is always more to master without seeing that as failure.

She is also paying attention to her relationships. Becoming a better wife. A better friend. More present with the people she loves.

Not because she believes she is falling short, but because she values growth in every area of her life.

This season is about refinement, curiosity, and intention.

What Grounds Her

For Hailey, grounding comes from self-awareness and reflection.

From checking in with herself.

From remembering who she is at her core when everything else feels busy or loud.

Evergreen is not about standing still.

It is about staying steady while you stretch.

What She Is Learning About Herself

Hailey is discovering that improvement does not mean inadequacy.

Wanting to grow does not cancel out the work she has already done.

She is learning that evolving can be gentle.

That becoming can feel hopeful instead of heavy.

She is embracing progress without pressure.

Photographing “Evergreen”

In the studio, evergreen showed up as calm confidence.

There was a steadiness in Hailey’s posture and a softness in her expression, the look of someone who trusts her roots while reaching for new light.

Her portraits felt balanced and intentional.

Growth without panic.

Change without fear.

A Final Reflection

Hailey’s story reminds us that staying true to yourself is not the opposite of change.

It is the foundation of it.

You can evolve.

You can stretch.

You can learn.

And still remain unmistakably you.

What word would you choose for this season of your life?
What are you stepping into this year?

The BE Project is a black-and-white portrait series by Beautiful Evolutions Photography honoring growth, courage, and the beauty of becoming.

The BE Project with Beautiful Evolutions Photography

The BE Project was created in 2016.  Two crazy girls had an idea and it came to life on a napkin at lunch one day. They partnered with a local jeweler, Woolards Custom Jewelry and a beautiful necklace was created.  What began as a marketing campaign turned in to an annual photo project that has allowed people to share a word that is important to them and why that word guides them.  Each year, in January, the project opens back up for registrations.  One week is dedicated to photographing the incredible people that want to join us.  All images are black and white to keep from any distractions.  Just the human and their word.
