The BE Project | Tamara and “Discipline”
Every year, The BE Project invites people into my studio to pause, reflect, and choose a word that will guide the next chapter of their lives. It is not about perfection or reinvention overnight. It is about honesty. Courage. Becoming.
Tamara did not hesitate when asked her word.
“Discipline.”
It touches every corner of her life, business, faith, fitness, and financial freedom.
The BE Project exists because I believe that we are all evolving and every person deserves to see themselves as art while they are becoming the person they are meant to be.
Why She Chose “Discipline”
Tamara explained that she has always been full of goals, but consistency is where transformation happens.
She wants discipline in her real estate career.
In her other business.
In reading Scripture daily.
In showing up at the gym.
Her coach helped her realize that focus, commitment, and momentum all live under the same umbrella.
Discipline.
“It kind of encompasses everything.”
What She Is Working Toward This Year
Tamara has ambitious plans.
One of her biggest goals is tripling her income so she can pay off debt, create flexibility, and possibly retire early alongside her husband.
She is building toward freedom.
Not comfort.
Not survival.
Choice.
What Grounds Her
When asked what brings her calm, Tamara answered instantly.
Her husband.
His steadiness.
His presence.
The person who keeps her rooted when her ambition is running full speed.
What She Is Learning About Herself
Tamara admitted that she has had moments lately where she feels low.
But even there, she sees something powerful.
She is proud of the humans she has raised.
Proud of the life she continues to build.
She is learning that strength and vulnerability can coexist.
Photographing “Discipline”
In the studio, discipline showed up as determination.
Focused eyes.
Strong posture.
A woman with her sights set forward and no intention of shrinking.
Her portraits felt commanding and hopeful all at once.
A Final Reflection
Tamara’s story reminds us that discipline is not restriction.
It is devotion to the life you are building.
What word would you choose for this season of your life?
What are you stepping into this year?
