The 2024 BE Project – In a world where you can BE anything, what will you choose?
In November I went back for a follow-up colonoscopy, and they found a little tiny lesion. As soon as I came out of the colonoscopy, the doctor said, I’m pretty sure this is cancer. I feel like if I say I’m a cancer survivor, I feel like I’m dissing the people who’ve actually gone through all of the crap that so many people have to go through. All I did was have a little surgery. So I know that I’ve survived cancer. It could have been far worse. And thank God I did. So I was blessed in my surgical team. They are amazing people. And I was blessed to have a surgeon who is top in his field at robotic surgery.
Meet Beverly and Her Personal Reflections
There’s nothing I want more than i have today, I feel like I’m in a good place. I don’t feel like there’s a whole lot of things I need to. I just want to be in a good, solid, happy place. It’s not going to happen constantly. Life has its ups and downs. But I feel like there’s nowhere I’m trying to get anymore. I’m just happy with where I am. I’m not rushing to do anything or trying to get anywhere.
If you could go back and talk to yourself two years ago, what would you say?
Pay attention to your body. Pay attention to your health. Pay attention to what’s going on, not out there, but in here.
