The BE Project – In a world where you can be anything…. What will you be?
Meet Tiffany – her word for the 2023 BE Project is Resilient
What word did you choose and why?
Resilient
I chose the word Resilient. In life, and especially in business, resilience is key. You cannot make everybody happy, and at times that feels really hard. Not everyone is meant to be in your inner circle. I want to spend less time overthinking those situations, and let those hard moments go sooner. I want to be resilient and continue to work hard toward my goals.
This year, the word I chose was Resilient. In life, and especially in business, resilience is key. You just cannot make everybody happy, and there are times when that feels really hard. But you cannot let the negative words or actions of one person dictate how you feel about yourself, or your work. This year I want to really focus on not overthinking. I can’t be perfect, but I can try my best. Not everybody is going to like me and that’s okay, not every personality is intended to mesh. But I can’t let that bother me, I can be resilient, let it go, and continue to work hard.
If you could talk to younger Tiffany, what would you tell her?
If I could go back and talk to younger Tiffany, I’d probably tell her to stop screwing off and get her life together sooner than she did. I think that had I done that, I could be a little bit farther ahead than I am now. Ultimately, I can respect and even appreciate those parts of my journey as well. They made me who I am and got me to where I am today.
What is something you hope you accomplish by the end of the year?
At the end of the year, I hope that I’ve accomplished working towards my next steps. The magazine is doing well, work is going well, but there are some next step big picture goals that I’d like to start narrowing down and working toward. Building my resilience is only going to continue helping me work toward those goals.
