Meet Lucie – her word for the 2023 BE Project is Fierce
What word did you choose and why?
Fierce
I chose the word Fierce. For the first 45 years of my life, I did not feel fierce. I’ve survived many things in my life, and I spent a long time punishing myself for things that were not my fault. I’ve gone from victim, to claiming my victory. It’s okay to let myself be fierce. It’s okay to see my own beauty. Because it’s there, and because I am. I just have to continue to accept it and share it.
This year I am focusing on the word Fierce. For the first 45 years of my life, I did not feel fierce, and I did not feel beautiful. I have survived a lot of different traumas in my life, and I spent a long time believing that they were my fault. I would punish myself for things that were done to me, instead of letting myself see the truth. I started taking steps toward reclaiming my health, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Through that journey I have realized that I am fierce, and that I am beautiful. I’ve worked to fully step into that, and share my gifts and my story with as many women as I could, because I wanted to create good out of what I went through. The moment you start believing for yourself the same things that you believe for other people, your life changes.
If you could go back and talk to a younger version of yourself, what would you say?
If I could go back and speak to younger Lucie, I’d tell her that she is going to be okay, and that she’s a fighter. I’d tell her that she needs to stop limiting her belief in herself, and to step into her light because it can shine really bright if she just embraces it.
