The BE Project | Pamela and “Driven”
Every year, The BE Project invites people into my studio to pause, reflect, and choose a word that will guide the next chapter of their lives. It is not about perfection or reinvention overnight. It is about honesty. Courage. Becoming.
When Pamela said her word, there was emotion behind it.
“Driven.”
Not because it comes easily right now.
But because she remembers who she used to be.
The BE Project exists because I believe that we are all evolving and every person deserves to see themselves as art while they are becoming the person they are meant to be.
Why She Chose “Driven”
The past two years changed everything.
She graduated high school.
Became a mom.
Lost her first baby at 39 weeks.
Three months later, became pregnant again.
Now she has a toddler and is learning how to balance motherhood, grief, and identity all at once.
In the process, she feels like she lost a piece of herself.
Driven used to define her.
Determined.
Focused.
Unstoppable.
She wants that version of herself back.
What She Is Working Toward This Year
Professionally, Pamela wants to stop settling for comfort.
To put herself out there.
To step into leadership and create community.
She is considering hosting monthly mommy-and-me events in Cleburne, creating connection for other mothers navigating similar seasons.
She is also back in college pursuing her business degree.
Balancing motherhood and coursework.
Buying a home.
Building a future.
What Grounds Her
Home.
Family.
Being present with the people she loves.
When life feels overwhelming, she pulls inward and finds calm in her own space.
What She Is Learning About Herself
Pamela said something powerful.
“I guess just making it this far.”
At 22, she has walked through grief, motherhood, homeownership, and higher education.
That is not small.
That is strength.
Photographing “Driven”
In the studio, driven looked resilient.
Young but steady.
Soft but determined.
A woman who has endured more than many and still chooses to move forward.
Her portraits felt brave.
A Final Reflection
Pamela’s story reminds us that being driven is not about hustle.
It is about remembering who you are, even after life reshapes you.
What word would you choose for this season of your life?
What are you stepping into this year?
