The BE Project – In a world where you can be anything…. What will you be?

Meet  Andrew – his word for the 2023 BE Project is Boldness

What word did you choose and why?

Boldness

I chose the word Boldness I want to do, to create, and to experiment trying new things in life. I want to help others see their potential, and find their boldness and excitement for life again. I want to show my kids what living a life of discipline and confidence feels like. I want to live my life boldly.

What is something you hope you accomplish by the end of the year?

It feels like I’ve noticed so many people living in fear over these last few years. I just think it’s time to move forward, live out loud and be bold again. I want to do, create and experiment trying new things in life. I want to be bold in my business, in meeting people and in helping others find their boldness and excitement for life again. I haven’t always been bold, I certainly had to put in the work to become that. Becoming a husband, daddy, surrounding yourself with the right people and finding your calling really helps create that in you.


If you could go back and talk to a younger version of yourself, what would you say?

            If I could talk to younger Andrew, I would tell him stop thinking too much and comparing yourself to other people. Your focus will be far better served elsewhere than spent worrying about how your life compares to others. 

            A couple of things I hope my kids hold fast to as they encounter their own struggles in life, is to always be there for each other. Family matters. I also hope they remember how to dig in and be strong in the hard moments. I don’t know what the world will throw at the kids but I want them to remember that whatever it is, they are strong enough to go through it.

 

 

What is The BE Project?

Have you ever stopped to think about who or what you want to be?  Most often there is a word that drives you.  If you sit in the silence and really think about what type of person you want to be… there will be a word, sometimes more than one word, that will guide you along and push you to keep being a better version of yourself.  This photo project has become something that has touched my heart and hopefully those that have participated. I chose to shoot all of the images in black and white because I wanted the least amount of distractions.  Just the human and the word.   This project is the stories of some amazing people, their stories, and what these words mean to them.  Some have participated each of the 4 years we have done this, some are new each time.  It’s an amazing honor to follow along in their journey and document who they are becoming.
