The BE Project – In a world where you can be anything…. What will you be?

Meet Dana – her word for the 2023 BE Project is Invigorating

What word did you choose and why?

Invigorating

 I chose the word Invigorating. I want to feel renewed. I want to focus more on the goals that I have and shake the slump I’ve felt lately. Life happens and you can pivot whenever you need to.

I am working to make 2023 Invigorating. I’ve just felt like I was in a bit of a slump lately, and I’m ready to make the changes necessary to get out of that. I want to feel renewed, and different. I want to focus more on the goals that I have, on being more present and a steady example for my kids. I want to show them that it’s okay when things go wrong. Life happens and you can pivot and move past those things. You can refresh things whenever you need to.

            If I could give my son one piece of advice to hold on to as he goes through his own life challenges, I’d tell him to be true to yourself always. It’s okay if things don’t always happen the way you want them to, and it’s okay if people don’t stay in your life forever. Being true to yourself is the most important thing. 

 

            

 

What is The BE Project?

Have you ever stopped to think about who or what you want to be?  Most often there is a word that drives you.  If you sit in the silence and really think about what type of person you want to be… there will be a word, sometimes more than one word, that will guide you along and push you to keep being a better version of yourself.  This photo project has become something that has touched my heart and hopefully those that have participated. I chose to shoot all of the images in black and white because I wanted the least amount of distractions.  Just the human and the word.   This project is the stories of some amazing people, their stories, and what these words mean to them.  Some have participated each of the 4 years we have done this, some are new each time.  It’s an amazing honor to follow along in their journey and document who they are becoming.
